Activity Permits

Nights Away Permits

We want as many of our volunteers as possible to hold a nights away permit so that our young people can experience the best part of scouting - camping !

The process for being awarded a permit is straightforward, and your Nights Away Adviser will guide you through the steps. The adviser is there to support and help you get your permit, not to test you. With enough notice, the adviser could even be the permit holder for your event while they work with you on the final approval.

Adventurous Activity Permits

Adventurous activities are fundamental to scouting - young people (and adults!) love taking part and challenging themselves. Some of these activities require a permit to ensure that the activity is run safely and in line with any regulations.

To encourage our volunteers to gain a permit, the District will pay for half of any training needed to get the permit. All we ask in return for the funding support is that the permit holder makes themselves available to help others with this activity through Rock N Roll who will ask them to help out from time to time.

There is lots of helpful guidance about the activity permit scheme from Scouts HQ here

If you are interested in finding out more about getting a permit, please get in touch with rocknroll@arrowscouts.org.uk who coordinate the permits for Arrow District
